YOU'RE INVITED!

WELCOME TO THE 2021 MADKATZ OKLAHOMA INVITATIONAL. THIS IS AN ANNUAL TOURNAMENT TO PUT MADKATZ RODS TO THE TEST AND CATCH SOME SERIOUSLY BIG FISH (hopefully).

  1. All Oklahoma Regulations will be followed.

  2. CONSERVATION NEEDS TO BE ON EVERYONE'S MIND, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR FISH ARE WELL TAKEN CARE OF SO THEY CAN HAVE A PRODUCTIVE FUTURE. FISH MUST BE IN GOOD CONDITION AND BE ABLE TO SWIM AWAY UNDER THEIR OWN POWER.

  3. Must attend in person or watch on Facebook Live captains meeting on Thursday, September 30 at 7 p.m.

  4. Tournament dates and hours: Friday, October 1 and Saturday, October 2, 2021. Fishing begins at 7 a.m. each day. Weigh-in begins at 3 p.m. each day. Boats must be checked in by 3 p.m. to weigh in.

  5. You can launch at any ramp but your vessel cannot leave the boat ramp until 5am (you can have your boat in the water prior to 5am but it must stay within 50 yards of the ramp).

  6. Pre-fishing ends 12-hours prior to start of tournament. With the exception of bait catching BY NET ONLY. No fishing lines in the water 12-hours prior to start of tournament.

  7. Teams consist of 1-3 ppl, children under the age of 12 do not count as a tournament contestant.

  8. A maximum of 10 rods may be used.

  9. This is a boat only tournament, no fishing from the bank.

  10. All fish must be caught on rod and reel.

  11. No snagging. All fish must be hooked inside the mouth.

  12. Winners will be determined by the cumulative weight from both days. Each day, teams can weigh 3 fish. TWO fish OVER 30” and ONE fish UNDER 30”. You may weigh one over and two unders or 3 unders, as well. (Length rule applies to blues only.)

  13. Blue, Flathead and Channel Catfish are eligible for weigh-in. 

  14. There may not be more than 3 fish in the boat at the time of weigh in.

  15. Everyone must wear a PFD on launch.

  16. Trailering is ALLOWED.

  17. Livewells ONLY, they must be a minimum of 40 gallons with re-circulation.

  18. Livewell checks will be performed the morning before each tournament day @ Dam Site West Public Use Area boat ramp starting at 4am.

  19. No fishing within 50 yards of another anchored boat or marina. When drifting you must stay 50ft from another vessel, planer boards are considered a part of the vessel.  Please give all anglers including non-tournament anglers plenty of space.

  20. Any bait that is legal in the State of Oklahoma, may be used.

  21. No fishing baited holes or known chumming locations. This includes Redbud Marina, there is no fishing within 50 yards of marina buildings or docks.

  22. No contestants can be intoxicated during tournament hours, including at the weigh-in. This includes any use of illegal substances and alcohol.   

  23. Your boat ID (issued at livewell inspection) must be turned in at the weigh-in location no later than 5pm each day. Even if you do not weigh fish. We need to know you made it back to the ramp safely.

  24. Remember you are an ambassador for the sport, please wear appropriate attire at the weigh-in.

  25. Any problems must be communicated to a Tournament Official before 5pm.

  26. All decisions by tournament officials will be final.
